Fractional CFO Clients nationwide English and Spanish
Nonprofit finances, with a plan.
Senior financial leadership for mission-driven organizations, without the full-time hire. Budgets, cash flow, board-ready reports, and an annual information return you can stand behind.
What I do for your organization
- Budgets your board can approve with confidence, and tracking against them all year.
- Cash flow forecasts, so payroll and programs stay covered between grant payments.
- Board-ready financial reports in plain English, on a set schedule.
- Restricted funds tracked by grant and purpose, so every funder can see how their money was used.
- Clean, current books in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or the software you already use.
Restricted funds, tracked from the start
Grants and gifts often come with conditions. I set up your books to separate money with donor restrictions from money without, track when each restriction is met, and keep the reports your funders ask for ready to send.
Ready for your annual audit
If your organization needs an annual audit, an independent audit firm performs it. I do not perform audits. I get you ready for one: reconciled books, organized schedules, and clear answers to your auditor’s requests, so the work goes smoothly for your staff.
Form 990, prepared on time
Most tax-exempt organizations file an annual information return: Form 990, Form 990-EZ, or the Form 990-N e-Postcard, depending on size. For a calendar-year organization, it is due May 15. In 2027 that date falls on a Saturday, so the deadline moves to Monday, May 17. An automatic extension adds six months.
I prepare your Form 990 or 990-EZ from books that are already reconciled, so the return matches the reports your board has seen.
How we work together
It starts with a free consultation about your organization, your board, and what is not working today. You get a written engagement letter with the scope and a flat fee before anything starts. Then we meet on a rhythm that fits your board calendar, monthly or quarterly.

FAQ
Questions, answered.
Do you perform nonprofit audits?
No. An independent audit firm performs your audit. I keep your books ready for it and help your team answer the auditor’s requests.
Is our organization too small for a fractional CFO?
Usually not. The work scales to your budget and your board’s needs, and the scope is set in your engagement letter.
Can you work with our current bookkeeper?
Yes. I can work alongside your bookkeeper, or take over the books and bring them current.
Do you work with nonprofits outside Illinois?
Yes. Everything happens through a secure client portal, electronic signatures, and phone or video calls.
Let’s talk about your organization.
